Big Game Hunter Special Program

Special Backcountry Horsemanship
Ride the Rockies in the Fall Program

September 18-22, 2006

This "special program" will give you the ultimate opportunity to ride and explore the beautiful Rocky Mountains while the aspens are turning gold. Listen to the bull elk bugling while you sit around the campfire at night. Sunshine filled days, and cool starlit nights, this is our favorite season of the year to spend alot of time in the saddle.

One exciting week in the high country learning to be a better rider and how to properly ride the rugged mountain trails of the Rockies will make a saddle bag full of great memories. You will stay in comfortable mountain cabins, have hot showers, great food, and spectacular scenery as you make new friends and become a better equestrian.

You will have instructors with a lifetime of experience working with horses and mules, riding in the backcountry, packing, and camping. We will help you fine tune your skills with a variety of equestrian subjects such as: western riding techniques, horses vs mules, simple packing 101, safety on the trail, health and maintence of stock, equestrian first aid, riding and packing equipment, outdoor cooking and camping, dealing with obstacles on the trail, horse problems, and much more.

Join the COAGS selected group of students September 18-22, 2006 to enjoy this "Education Vacation" at the Gold Camp Ranch. The ranch is located on the southern slopes of the famous mountain, Pikes Peak, southwest of Colorado Springs.

Total cost of this one week "special program", including lodging and meals, is only $1,500.00. This class is filling up quickly so book early to reserve you spot. We will see you in September.

Note- Students may bring their own horse or mule as long as they are well mannered and trained. No stallions allowed.

Big Game Hunter Special Program
September 25-29, 2006

Elk

The Colorado Outdoor Adventure Guide School is now offering a "special program" designed for the Big Game Hunter . If you don't plan to become a professional guide, but want to become a better big game hunter, then this program is for you.

The program covers hunting techniques for elk, mule deer, and whitetail deer. We teach you about game calls and calling techniques, equipment used, clothing, horse and mule packing, horsemanship, wilderness survival, orienteering (map, compass, GPS), and more.

We conduct this program at our high country Gold Camp Ranch facility on the southern slopes of the famous Colorado Mountain— Pikes Peak.

This special big game hunting course is five days in length, very intense, and incredibly rewarding. This is more than a class. You take the skills you learn during class and apply them in real life big game hunting situations.

The Colorado Archery Elk Season is in full swing during the month of September. You can hear the bulls bugling morning and evening right from your ranch cabin. You will have the opportunity each day to test your calling and stalking techniques with the big bulls, in the high country of Colorado.

You will actually go out hunting each day. You will hunt, call, have close encounters, and “shoot” big game. But because this is an educational program, you will not kill big game. You will shoot with a camera.

The objective of the Special Big Game Hunter Program course is to teach you the hunting skills that will give you success in the high country or in your back yard. If this is what you seek then the Colorado Outdoor Adventure Guide School, “Big Game Hunter Program" is for you.

Big Game Hunter

To Hunt Before Class Starts - To hunt during your stay you will need to purchase the necessary licenses from the Colorado Division of Wildlife. Archery elk licenses can be purchased over the counter for most areas.

If you want to learn the hunting techniques that will give you success in the high country or in your back yard, then the Colorado Outdoor Adventure Guide School "Special Big Game Hunter Program" is for you.

This program takes place after the archery season ends and before the gun season begins. Mark your calendar September 25-29, 2006 and register early.

Total cost, including lodging and meals, is only $1,500.00. The price of other big game hunts is easily 2 to 3 times this.
